About The Groves
The Groves Brass Ensemble was formed in September 2001 by
five first year students from the Royal Northern College of Music.
The quintet owes its name to Sir Charles Groves, principal conductor of the BBC Northern Orchestra (now the BBC Philharmonic) from 1944-51.
